(Continued from
The Top of The Page...)
It has become a common fact
that conventional aerobic exercise programs are not a particularly effective
method for losing weight. For some people, this may come as good news.
Those of you who really hate aerobic exercise are probably pleased to
learn that it is not the best way to lose weight.
There are thousands of people
who have made their way to the gym, day after day, and hopped aboard
their favorite torture machine for 45 minutes or more, only to find
that at the end of the week, they have not experienced any meaningful
weight loss.
The good news is that dieting,
when done right, can help you lose roughly three times as much weight
as exercising. If you can combine diet and exercise, then you can lose
even more, but not by a whole lot. What you eat is much more important
for losing weight than how much you exercise.
However, exercise does have
some benefits. You can think of exercise as a way to make your body
healthier and diet as a way to make your body thinner. Also, if you
can incorporate some weight resistance into your exercise routine, the
extra muscle mass can help to make it easier for your body to shed pounds.
In order to lose weight,
you need to create a calorie deficit. Unfortunately, you just don't
burn that many calories with most aerobic exercise routines. Losing
weight is more about cutting calories than it is about burning calories.
If you can get yourself to take in less calories, you can be losing
weight in a relatively short amount of time.
If you want to be thin and
healthy then you will need a combination of exercise and diet. If you
just want to be thin and you don't care about your health, losing weight
is a simple matter of eating less. However, it's not just the total
amount of calories that you take in each day that really matters. What
matters even more is what types of foods you get those calories from
and how often you eat.
You should try to only eat
healthy foods and you should try to eat them as often as possible. The
more often you eat, the more weight you can lose. Eating small amounts
of food often is a good way to trick your body into thinking that it
does not need to retain fat. When you go for long periods of time without
eating, your body goes into a survival mode and tries to retain as much
fat as possible.
When you exercise, your body
notices this and decides that you need more calories in order to survive.
If you can keep feeding your body throughout the day then it will not
go into survival mode. The key is to only eat foods that are good for
you and to eat as often as you can. Try spreading your calories out
over your whole day.
It really doesn't matter
that you are thin if the cost is your overall health so it is actually
pretty important to get some form of exercise. This can be as simple
as taking a walk every evening, using the stairs instead of the elevator
or riding your bike to work. As long as you are making your body do
some type of work, it will reward you with better overall health.
Just keep in mind that losing
weight is not all about exercise. You exercise for your health and you
diet for your weight loss goals. If you are like most people and you
want to be thin and healthy then you will do both.
