The Top of The Page...)
The only people who can lose
weight without dieting are marathon runners and other athletes who typically
burn 4,000 or more calories a day. Dieting is the only way for the rest
of us to lose weight. However, this should not be accomplished by using
fad diets. Fad diets come and go and so will your weight.
Fad diets can help you lose
some weight pretty fast but for most people, this weight will come right
back. The best way to lose weight is to take the slow and steady approach
and to avoid all types of fad diets.
Dieting means different things
to different people. Most people who think of dieting picture going
on some crazy diet that has you only eating protein, consuming eight
bowls of soup a day or counting their calories. The best approach to
dieting is to ignore these fad diets and just stick with eating healthy
foods in small quantities at regular intervals.
You can lose a lot of weight
by simply eating more food. The trick is in how much and how often you
eat. One way to approach dieting is to forget about meals entirely.
Instead, just snack all day. When your body receives food at regular
intervals it will assume that you are taking care of your caloric needs
and so it will not try to convert the calories that you consume into
fat.
If you want to lose weight
and keep it off, you will need to change the way that you eat as well
as what you eat. This will need to be a permanent change. With fad diets,
you will typically stick to whatever they have proposed for as long
as it takes to lose as much weight as you want to lose. Once that particular
diet stops, the weight will just gradually keep coming back until you
eclipse and surpass your former weight.
If you make a permanent change
to the way that you eat then you will not really be dieting, but you
will still be able to lose weight. Eating small, frequent healthy snacks
is the only way to go if you want to lose weight and keep it off.
